Chocachatti Elementary School Reviews

The teachers and the Micro Society Program that the children participate in.

Every teacher my daughter has exceeded my expectations. The teachers have gone beyond their job desriptions in our times of need. The teachers need supportive parents and I hope the structure continues to be successful as they change the admission process. Sibling rule should never have been taken away. Thank God my son was placed this final year. Otherwise... he would only enter by fate and chance of lottery.. Keep the good ratings.... keep parental involvement! Keep siblings at the same school! Vote out any school board members in oppositino of the automatic sibling rule which will be brought back to them-- guaranteed!

The microsociety creates a focus. Many teachers give extra to support the growth of their students.

Great staff & great opportunities for our children to learn. Wish more schools were like it!

The students want to come to school each day. They are excited about their microsociety ventures where they can create and explore the real world of business and finance all incorporating english, math, and science. My child never wanted to miss a day.

Chocachatti is a fabulous school to work at. I am very proud of our students, parents, and staff. Forget all the rest, Chocachatti is the best!

When we first attended the orientation 6 years ago, my husband and I could not believe the curriculum available to the students. we had never heard of a microsociety school and loved the concept. Our daughter was lucky enough to be selected to attend this wonderful school. It teaches the students utilizing the arts (drama, music dance and art) as well as giving them an idea of what life is all about. Having our daughter start her academic life in a school like Chocachatti made her a better student. Every teacher she has had has been outstanding. This school deserves 10 stars - not just five!!!!

My daughter went to school here she is in middle school now but i have never seen a better school all the way around, the teachers are great and the students are happy. We have lived all over the united states and have never found a school like this.

Microsociety gives all the children a feeling of importance and responsibility. My children are so proud when they come home and tell me what job they performed on Micro days. This school makes learning fun and my children look forward to going school.

My child is just finishing kindergarten at Chocachatti. It has been a wonderful year. His teacher has been great, and we have communicated very well through the year. The micro society and music, dance, and drama classes have made school fun and interesting. So far we've been really pleased.

When I started my kindergartener at this school, I was disappointed on how delayed their lessons are. I tried to explain to the teacher to give my son more challenging work. What they were teaching him, he already learned in preschool. I expected a more academically rigid curriculum only to find out that they are teaching baby stuff. The microsociety is quite interesting though but I want challenge and proper academic learning for my son.

I love everything about chocachatti. The whole micro society it amazing. It teaches responsibilty which I feel is one of the most important things to learn. This school is perfect for my daughters personality being a school of arts. Academically she is excelling as well. She has gone up 3 reading levels in 1 week. I highly recommend this school. She also loves it!

Chocachatti Elementary is a hidden treasure in our quiet community. The programs are cutting edge, and the opportunities for student growth in all areas is unmatched. Chocachatti staff deals with the whole child; their academic, social, and extracurricular growth. Take the time to do a MicroSociety tour and you will be astounded by what you see! Students spend three hours a week working to earn a salary at jobs such as postal worker, jewelry crafter, news anchor, painter, mandolin player, etc. Chocachatti remains a success because of the commitment and proactive nature of its new principal, Mrs. Rybka, who works to build upon and perfect the vision of the school's founder. She is incredibly visible, directly engaged with students while planning for their success. Mrs. Rybka serves as an empathetic listener dedicated to meeting the needs of her clientele, and displays courage as a catalyst for the change necessary for growth.

This school year has been a wonderful experience for our whole family. Our child started kindergarten and has grown so much academically and socially. Her teacher Mrs Kraft is amazing. She teaches tolerance of others, acceptance and instills that the classroom is family. She encouraged parent participation and was always there to answer questions and is open minded to ideas. She genuinely enjoys being with the kids and in turn the students adore her. I cannot believe our Kindergartner is enjoying reading books by herself and understanding them. Also Chocachatti builds self esteem. They encourage the students and let them showcase their newly learned skills. I cannot say how pleased we are. The theme of the classroom was 'We Are All In This Together'. And they proved that they are. They look out for each other and respect each other. Mrs Kraft taught them Spanish this year. It is wonderful!

Great School! The new principal has made needed changes with pick up. I am on the school advisory council and she has done what was needed to make a great school even better. I have gone in to talk to her when I have a problem and she was very helpful.

We love Chocachatti school of arts and the microsociety idea. Our child seems to be learning more because of it! Warmness is evident through contact with the teachers, they genuinely care about each child's progress at an individual rate. We are new, but feeling a lot of what other parents are complaining about and must agree with them. Principals agenda did seem evident from the beginning of the year, but never really direct. Parent communications about possible new procedures are very poor and after the fact; perhaps to avoid resistance. Have always heard wonderful things about the school and am keeping an open mind. Re enrolling my child for next year too!

My child loves this school, classmates, teachers and microsociety. We are also not thrilled with new principals performance, but are still very pleased with out child's progress. Communication with teacher is very smooth.

5-Star, awesome school with 2-day a week microsociety that teaches children the ethics and understanding of work, pay, taxes, teamwork, etc. Electives include dance, Tae Kwon Do, Golf, Pottery, Drama, Photography, Musical Strings, etc. Field trips reinforce drama/arts and include theatre trips, zoo trips, etc. Uniforms required. Lottery-based selection (input request by January) with results in February. Portfolio submission increases the odds of getting your child in Chocachatti. Lottery numbers are being reduced each year - highly recommend motivated parents to submit a portfolio. My children love this school, the teachers, the events and the microsociety. New Principal this year; not as parent-friendly as previous. Seems to be trying to force several issues despite parental and community objections (pick-up procedures, bussing, teacher requests, etc.). Does not seem concerned about parental approval and persistent on forcing some already decided upon issues. Not as approachable as previous Principal. Teachers are great, kids love them.

I give this school a 10. Absolutely love it. Teachers are fantastic, they actually care about their students education and aren't there only to collect a paycheck.

Great teachers and great programs. Inexperienced new principal and it shows. One wonders how well this school would do if it let in average and below average children.

My child is new to this school this year. Wow, what a difference! It is more challenging for her...but completely worth it! We love the 'Micro-Society' philosophy.

Parental involvement is so far past all other schools I have been involved with. Also , their extracurricular activities that are available is the reason why I send my child here! Excellent.

Chocachatti is an amazing school! Three of my four children have attended, and we have had nothing but good experiences and success. The Micro and arts programs are outstanding as is the faculty and administration.

I moved to this area because of the reputation of this school. My daughter is now in first grade and I have not been disappointed. She loves school. When she started in August she was not reading at all. 6 months later she is reading at third grade level. The teachers are organized, caring, inspiring and communicate well. The Micro-Society here is a wonderful experience for the students. The principal is tops and frankly, I doubt you could find another school this great in the area. We are making a job related move and are finding it difficult to find any school anywhere that rates as well as this one. We will miss everything about this school. It is one in a million!

This is my daughters 6th year here. The teachers have helped her excell in all area. The Micro Society and Fine Arts programs makes school fun for the kids. I would recommened this school to anyone. It is a magnet school, so the kids and teachers alike all enjoy being there and it really shows. The kids have art, music, drama, dance, & science every week. They also have p.e. 3-5 times a weeks depending on the grade. They have micro twice a week. My daughter has learned a lot from her micro jobs though the years. That will help her when she gets older. There is also a lot of parent involvment in this school. They welcome parents to help out in the classrooms or other places in the school. I would say that the mood of the school all starts with the principal and staff.

My children have attended this school since kindergarten. They are both advanced learners whose needs have been met thanks to the dedication and skill of their teachers. This school offers outstanding opportunities for every child to excel. Chocachatti is blessed with excellent parent involvement, although some of the gossip that spreads among parents can be detrimental.

Chocachatti provides a unique combination of Magnet School for the Fine Arts and MicroSociety. The fine arts program provides a well-rounded education, and the Microsocity supplements daily education, making it fun.

This school provides and extremely positive learning experience. The children love going to school due to the teacher dedication and challenging curriculum that stimulates to learn. The variety of jobs the micro-society provides prepares them for the future and teaches them a grand lesson in respondsibility that gives them a leg up as the move on to higer education. In other word the school is truly wonderful.
